We specialize in producing power cables across various voltage levels, including high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cables at 132, 230, and 400 kilovolts. As the first manufacturer of such cables in Iran, we have pioneered industry advancements and set new benchmarks in quality and performance. Quality Assurance

The large Abhar Cable complex has one of the most advanced electrical industry laboratories in the Middle East, capable of conducting tests up to 2800 kilovolts. The laboratory’s quality assurance division consists of the following sections:

• Three high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cable laboratories (EHV & HV) in the quality assurance division.
• Low-voltage electrical tests.
• Fire performance testing on various types of cables.
• Thermal cycle and partial discharge testing.
• Physical testing on cables.
• Chemical and polymer analysis of manufactured cables.

These comprehensive testing capabilities help verify cable performance, durability, safety, and compliance throughout the manufacturing process, supporting consistent product quality for different applications.

Fire and Flame Performance Laboratory

In the Fire and Flame Performance Laboratory, located within the quality assurance division, the following tests are performed on the relevant cables:

• Flame spread tests on single or bunched cables (IEC60332).
• Fire resistance tests on cables (IEC60331).
• Smoke emission tests from cables (IEC61034).
• Acid gas emission tests during cable fires (IEC60754-1).
• pH and conductivity measurements (IEC60754-2).

International Standards and Standard Testing

At Abhar Cable Quality Assurance Laboratory, we adhere to the following international standards:

• IEC 60331; BS 6387; SS 299: Fire Resistant
• IEC 60 332-1; BS 4066; BS EN 50226; IEEE 383: Flame Retardant (Non-propagation of Flame)
• IEC 60 332-3: Non-propagation of Fire
• IEC 61 034-1; IEC 61 034-2; BS 7622; BS EN 50268: Smoke Emission (Opacity of Fumes)
• IEC 60 754-1; BS 6425; BS EN 50267: Acid Gas Emission (Toxicity of Gas)
• IEC 60 754-2: Corrosivity of Fumes
• ASTM D 2863: Oxygen Index

Fire Resistance Tests at Abhar Cable Laboratory

According to BS6387 standards:

• CAT C: Resistance to fire alone - 950 °C for 3 hours
• CAT W: Resistance to fire with water - 650 °C for 30 minutes
• CAT Z: Resistance to fire with mechanical shock - 650 °C for 30 minutes
